Association Membership Categories
Designated Realtor® (DR) Member
- Head of firm or agent designated by the BIC as DR for the firm
- Must be actively engaged in the real estate business and hold an active license or be a state certified appraiser
- May be a principal, partner, corporate officer or sole proprietor of the firm
- Supervises all agents in firm
Secondary Designated Realtor® (DR) Member
- Meets all of the above criteria for Designated Realtor® member
- Holds primary membership in another Realtor® association
- Must present a “Letter of Good Standing” from their primary board attesting dues were paid for the year
Realtor® Member
- Licensee working under the direct supervision of a Designated Realtor® member of Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association
- Must have an active provisional broker/broker/appraiser license
- May not be an appraisal trainee
- Must be actively engaged in the real estate business
Secondary Realtor® Member
- Meets all of the above criteria for Realtor® member
- Holds primary membership in another Realtor® association
- Must present a “Letter of Good Standing” from their primary board attesting dues were paid for the year
Affiliate Member
- An individual with a professional interest in real estate (mortgage banker, home inspector, real estate attorney)
- May not engage in general brokerage (selling or listing of real estate)
- If individual holds a real estate license, it must be placed on inactive status
- Membership transfers with individual from one place of employment to next
- May not subscribe to the MLS
Corporate Affiliate Member
- A company with a business interest in real estate (mortgage, law firm, bank, etc.)
- May not engage in real estate brokerage (selling or listing of real estate)
- Company holds the membership, not the individuals who work there
- May fill a vacant affiliate membership within the company for a reduced fee
- May not subscribe to the MLS
Canopy MLS Membership Categories
Member Participant
- Head of firm or Designated Realtor®
- Must be a principal, partner, corporate officer or owner of firm
- Supervises all agents in the firm who utilize MLS services
- Pays a Member Participant start-up fee and quarterly MLS fees
Subscriber
- Licensee with a firm who operates under a Member Participant or Certified Real Estate Appraiser
- Pays a subscriber set-up fee and quarterly subscriber fees
Non-Member Licensee
- Licensee with a member firm who is not a Realtor® member of the association
- Pays a subscriber start-up fee and quarterly subscriber fees
Assistant
- Must be unlicensed or have an inactive real estate license
