CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CarolinaMLS), a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation of the Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association, is pleased to announce that CarolinaMLS is now the primary MLS for Salisbury/Rowan Association of Realtors®. In March CarolinaMLS acquired the MLSs for Burke County Board of Realtors® and McDowell Board of Realtors®.

CarolinaMLS, which has approximately 16,300 subscribers, is the private cooperative Realtors® use for access to tens of thousands of residential listings in a multicounty service area, including Charlotte, the Piedmont and Mountain areas of North and South Carolina, and beyond.

“We’re excited about becoming part of CarolinaMLS and the wealth of possibilities this new alliance offers. We believe CarolinaMLS will provide our members with greater access to technology and resources,” said 2019 Salisbury/Rowan Association of Realtors® President Tom Bost. 

CarolinaMLS offers multiple tools and training to equip Realtors® with the most up-to-date, accurate information to better serve their clients and compete in today’s rapidly changing real estate market.

MLS consolidation is happening across the real estate industry. Several years ago, there were more than 800 MLSs across the country; today there are fewer than 700.  The benefits of consolidation include lower costs for brokers due to not having to join several MLSs, as well as standardized data feeds, rules and compliance.

CarolinaMLS currently serves 11 associations and 24 counties, but it accepts listings from anywhere within reason.
