CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CarolinaMLS), a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation of the Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association, is pleased to announce the intended consolidation of North Carolina Mountains MLS (NCMMLS).  The consolidation will be completed, with an effective date of January 1, 2018.

With the consolidation of NCMMLS, subscribers for both MLSs will receive more robust and streamlined services, access to improved products, standardized data feeds, more exposure for sellers and more options for buyers, all from a single source.

Since October 2015, CarolinaMLS has operated and served as the wholesale vendor for NCMMLS, providing core services as well as training and support for more than 3,000 subscribers.

2017 NCMMLS President Dave Noyes said, “After doing our due diligence and discussing this with our membership, we’re excited about the wealth of possibilities this new alliance with CarolinaMLS offers.  We believe that providing our members with greater access to technology and resources in a rapidly changing industry is needed to compete in today’s real estate market.”

2017 Association/CarolinaMLS President Roger Parham said, “Across our industry, we’re seeing consolidation take hold, and we applaud NC Mountains MLS for being forward-thinking and for their desire to better serve their members. Several years ago, there were more than 800 MLSs across the country; today there are fewer than 700, and the number will keep dropping. Ultimately this type of partnership helps our brokers realize greater cost savings as well as standardization of data across the industry.”

CarolinaMLS, which has approximately 11,500 subscribers, is the private cooperative Realtors® use for access to thousands of residential listings in a multicounty service area that includes Charlotte and the Piedmont area of North and South Carolina. After the intended consolidation of NCMMLS subscribers, CarolinaMLS’s footprint will expand into the western portion of North Carolina and will have more than 15,500 subscribers.

Once the consolidation is completed, the CarolinaMLS Board of Directors will expand to include representatives from Haywood Realtor® Association, Hendersonville Board of Realtors® and Land of the Sky Association of Realtors®.
