CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association is pleased to announce the recent hire of Kimberly A. McMillan as Vice President of Marketing and Communications.  In this capacity McMillan will be responsible for promoting the professional value that Realtors® bring to consumers, as well as activities and programs of the Marketing and Communications Department, which supports all functions of the association, Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CarolinaMLS), the association’s Housing Opportunity Foundation and the Mingle School of Real Estate.

McMillan, a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience, was previously the Deputy Director of Communications and Media Relations with Moore & Van Allen Public Affairs, where she advised clients on corporate communications strategies, media relations and marketing campaigns. McMillan, whose career experience spans healthcare, government, real estate and non-profit work, has also served in senior-level marketing and communication roles in Charlotte with Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions, City of Charlotte, Allen Tate Realtors® and Arts & Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, to name a few.  Previous experience outside of Charlotte includes public relations work with Zimmerman Partners Advertising, account executive with The Agency, Inc. and as Promotions Coordinator with Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation.

McMillan is a native of Pennsylvania and received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Ohio University.  She’s a member of Charlotte Rotary Club, where she serves as chair of the Literacy Committee.  She is also a board director with The Lunch Project, which empowers communities to support school lunch programs in Tanzania, a board director with Women Executives and an active member of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).  McMillan has been named one of the “50 Most Influential Women” by Mecklenburg Times and received the Charlotte Business Journal’s Top 25 Executive Women award. She and husband Bill have two daughters, Carson and Shealy.
