CRRA Housing Opportunity Foundation | Home GiveawaySMProgram Workforce Housing Certificate Program | Workforce Housing Links Why Should Realtors® Get Involved? Home GiveawaySM Program
The Home GiveawaySM Program has been suspended for 2008 as the foundation researches new programs to increase homeownership in our region. Workforce housing is a major issue in the Charlotte region. The Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association (CRRA), with its 9,500 members, determined that the issue was one that really hit close to home and we decided to get involved. "We wanted to take a very concrete step in addressing the issue of workforce housing in Charlotte. It's one thing to talk about the workforce housing issue - Realtors® wanted to start working on a solution," says CRRA CEO Anne Marie Howard, Esq. Homeownership education is the goal of the Housing Opportunity Foundation's Home GiveawaySM Program. The program is a partnership between CRRA and The Housing Partnership, which provides homeownership counseling to qualified individuals. Participants who successfully complete the homeownership program become mortgage-ready with the ability to purchase a home. Those who have not already become homeowners by the June deadline qualify to win a home. The success of the Home GiveawaySM Program is measured by the number of applicants who inquire about the program, enroll and complete the homeownership counseling, and become first-time homeowners. Potential homeowners and Realtors® may refer clients to The Housing Partnership for homeownership counseling. To register for homeownership counseling, contact The Housing Partnership at 704-342-0933 or visit www.cmhp.org.
