Volunteers can begin signing up for Realtors® Care Day in January of each year and must be signed up by the April 1 volunteer deadline.
Volunteers perform exterior repairs on homes, which include: - Basic and minor construction improvement projects
- General site clean-up
- Gutter repair and replacement
- Handicapped accessible ramp construction
- Landscaping
- Painting
- Roofing
- Window replacement
For volunteers who do not feel comfortable with physical labor, help is needed with other important aspects of the day including food or supplies delivery to site locations and setting up for the Celebration Party. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities that do not involve physical labor, please e-mail crrafoundation@carolinahome.com. Once you sign up as a volunteer, we will keep you informed through e-blasts that provide updates, including confirmation of your work assignment a few weeks prior to the event. All volunteers must be Realtors®. You will be required to agree to the terms and conditions of the volunteer release form upon signing up online.
Each home site will have a site captain and project manager that will lead the day's repairs. You will be contacted by your site captain in early April. All volunteers will also be given a Realtors® Care Day t-shirt upon arrival at their site. Volunteers will need to wear their t-shirt while on site.
A Celebration Party will be held at the end of the day. Realtors®, family members from each site location, project sponsors, partners and donors will gather to celebrate the day's achievements.
