CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CarolinaMLS), a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation of the Charlotte Regional Realtor^® Association, has officially started operating as the wholesale vendor for the Multiple Listing Service of Catawba Valley, Inc. (MLSCV).

As the wholesale MLS system vendor, CarolinaMLS now provides core services to MLSCV subscribers.  These services include access to the Matrix^TM MLS platform as well as multiple interactive real estate analysis tools and reports. MLSCV subscribers will now have access to new tools to build their business, including CoreLogic’s Realist tax data, the Statistical Analysis Model (SAM) and ShowingTime, plus MLS training and support services.  Under this operating agreement both multiple listing services will maintain their distinct brands and their legal status as an MLS.

CarolinaMLS, which has approximately 15,000 subscribers, is the private cooperative Realtors^® use for access to thousands of residential listings in a multicounty service area that includes Charlotte, the Piedmont and Mountains areas of North and South Carolina, and beyond. MLSCV serves approximately 600 Realtors^® in the Hickory/Catawba County and Lenoir/Caldwell County areas of western North Carolina.

CarolinaMLS successfully operated a similar wholesale vendor agreement for two years with the North Carolina Mountains MLS (NCMMLS), which had approximately 3,000 subscribers. NCMMLS chose to become part of CarolinaMLS on January 1, 2018.  

2018 Association/CarolinaMLS President Jason Gentry said, “We’re pleased to move forward with our service provider relationship with MLS of Catawba Valley. Together, we have more buying and bargaining power with vendors while ultimately reducing costs for brokers.”

2018 Catawba Valley Association/MLSCV President Lois Leonard said, “With technology changing so quickly, our subscribers look forward to having access to shared data, new products, services and tools, as well as the training and support that CarolinaMLS will provide. Ultimately, this level of cooperation will allow us to be more relevant, efficient and sustainable and provide more value to homebuyers and sellers in the Hickory area.”

CarolinaMLS conducted more than 30 classes and webinars for MLSCV members to prepare for the conversion to Matrix™, and additional classes are planned for the future.

CarolinaMLS also serves as the wholesale MLS vendor for the Multiple Listing Service of Catawba Valley (MLSCV) and provides core services as well as training and support to its 600 subscribers; however, the MLSCV still serves as the primary MLS in the Hickory/Catawba County and Lenoir/Caldwell County areas of western North Carolina.
