Every North Carolina licensee is required to take eight hours of continuing-education (CE) classes by June 10 of each year (four hours mandatory update and four hours elective of your choice) to remain on active status.
Did you miss your CE before the June 10 deadline? If so, your real estate license will go on "inactive" status on July 1. To make up the deficiency, you will need to take the 2009-2010 R.E. Mandatory Update and either two or three electives. Please call the N.C. Real Estate Commission (NCREC) at 919-875-3700 to clarify how many hours you need to take to remove your inactive status. After you successfully complete all necessary CE hours, you will need to fill out a "Request to Activate License" form and mail it to NCREC. This form can be downloaded from www.ncrec.state.nc.us.
If you are the designated broker-in-charge (BIC), you must also take the 2009-2010 Broker-in-Charge Annual Review Course (BICAR). This is a four-hour elective course that must be completed by June 10, 2010, by ALL BICs who were designated prior to July 1, 2009, and who wish to remain a BIC as of July 1, 2010 for the 2010-2011 license period. This course will count as an elective credit. All BICs still must complete the annual mandatory Real Estate Update Course that all licensees must take each year as part of their eight hours of continuing education (CE) to be on active status the following license year.
Transfer Policy: If you wish to cancel prior to class starting, you can transfer to another class ONCE with full tuition credit within the same CE seaon (example: July 1, 2009 through June 10, 2010) if prior notice is given. We are unable to offer refunds.
Please be prepared to show your N.C. Real Estate Pocket Card and valid I.D. at check-in.
