The purpose of the Habitat Support Program is to provide monetary support to area Habitat for Humanity organizations, within the scope of the areas served by Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CMLS). The foundation does not accept unsolicited requests for funding through this program.
Each year the foundation awards nine Habitat for Humanity organizations between $12,500 and $22,500 in total to support and continue their programs.
Learn about the Habitats that were funded in 2011: - Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus County received $1,000 to assist in providing financial-literacy training and counseling to families and current homeowners.
- Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte received $2,500 to help cover rehab and repair costs for one vacant, foreclosed home purchased by Habitat Charlotte through the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI).
- Habitat for Humanity of Gaston County received $1,000 to cover the costs associated with one home renovation in the coming year.
- Habitat for Humanity of Iredell County received $2,500 to support itsHAND Up Program, which offers critical home repairs to qualifying non-Habitat families.
- Habitat for Humanity of Union County received $1,000 to purchase windows for a Habitat house in Marshville, N.C., which will be owned by a Marshville police officer who is a single father of two small children.
- Lincoln County Habitat for Humanity received $1,000 to assist with home repairs for one family through the “A Brush With Kindness” (ABWK) program.
- Our Towns Habitat for Humanity received $2,500 to purchase 16 exterior doors for homes built in 2012 throughout Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville.
- Stanly County Habitat for Humanity received $1,000 to assist in the building costs of one house build in 2012.
