CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CarolinaMLS), a wholly-owned subsidiary corporation of the Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association, and the Multiple Listing Service of Catawba Valley, Inc. (Catawba MLS) have approved a definitive agreement for CarolinaMLS to operate and serve as a wholesale vendor for Catawba MLS.

As the wholesale MLS system vendor, CarolinaMLS will provide core services to Catawba MLS as well as training and support for its subscribers. Under this operating agreement both multiple listing services will maintain their legal status as an MLS, as well as retain separate branding.

CarolinaMLS, which has approximately 11,400 subscribers, is the private cooperative Realtors® use for access to thousands of residential listings in a multicounty service area that includes Charlotte and the Piedmont area of North and South Carolina. Catawba MLS serves Realtors® in Hickory/Catawba County and Lenoir/Caldwell County areas of western North Carolina.

Since October 2015, CarolinaMLS has operated a similar agreement and served as the wholesale vendor for the NC Mountains MLS, which covers the western North Carolina mountains area and services approximately 3,000 subscribers.

2017 Association/CarolinaMLS President Roger Parham said, “We’ve had overwhelming success in serving as wholesale vendor for the NC Mountains MLS. We believe this collaboration between CarolinaMLS and Catawba MLS will likewise present a great opportunity for subscribers here and in Hickory/Catawba County and the Lenoir/Caldwell County areas by increasing ease of business for members through data sharing and mutual cooperation and compensation.”

2017 Catawba MLS President Michael Kelly Jr. said, “Technology continues to change quickly in our industry, and this level of cooperation between Catawba MLS and CarolinaMLS will allow for greater operating efficiencies and better implementation of new products and services for our members.”
